Our annual scholarship program has formed the cornerstone of the association since its founding. Each spring, outstanding high school graduates from the public districts and independent schools of the greater Houston area receive scholarship awards funded by generous Houston businesses, the philanthropic community, and our members.
More than 30 dedicated alumni read students’ applications to help select one senior from each of nearly all the greater Houston area’s high schools. The applications are evaluated based on academic achievement, talents, community service, and other factors, such as a student’s success over adversity. These scholarship recipients embody the diversity of our region and the acme of academic and personal achievement.
We raise and distribute more money for college scholarships than any other PBK association in the country—more than the next three associations combined. Last year, we were able to award sixty-three $4,000 scholarships and one $6,000 scholarship to outstanding high school seniors, one from each of dozens of high schools in the Greater Houston area. Congratulations to all our scholarship recipients.
As the Houston area grows, so does the challenge of funding the scholarship program. The continued success of the association in meeting its goal of recognizing students from every part of the Houston area depends on the ongoing contributions of the wider community. If you are unable to sponsor a scholarship, but would like to make a donation, you can do so and designate your donation in honor of a special person.
Sponsor a Scholarship
You can also sponsor a scholarship to be awarded in your name or in the name of someone you wish to honor. Available sponsorship levels are $3,500 (Bronze Key), $5,500 (Silver Key) and $7,500 (Gold Key).

Your sponsorship of a Bronze Key Scholarship will allow you to designate the name of a scholarship to be awarded in Spring of 2022.
Your sponsorship of a Silver Key Scholarship will allow you to designate the name of a scholarship to be awarded in Spring of 2022.
Your sponsorship of a Gold Key Scholarship will allow you to designate the name of a scholarship to be awarded in Spring of 2022.
Endow a Scholarship
Some donors choose to create a permanent endowed scholarship. The cost to endow a permanent scholarship is $50,000. For questions concerning Scholarship Underwriting, please contact us. Contributions of any size are extremely welcome.
